CCKSF/SFSC ACG 2026 TaiChi / KungFu Championship
To all Chinese Martial artists and school owners,
Prior to 2019, the Canadian Chinese Kuo Shu (Martial Arts) Federation (CCKSF) proudly hosted an annual martial arts tournament that brought together practitioners, schools, and communities from across the region to celebrate Chinese martial arts, athletic excellence, and cultural heritage. This longstanding tradition provided an important platform for athletes to showcase their skills, foster camaraderie, and preserve the values and disciplines embodied within Chinese martial arts.
The COVID-19 pandemic significantly disrupted community events worldwide and brought this annual tournament tradition to a temporary pause. Since then, CCKSF has been exploring new opportunities to reintroduce and revitalize its annual tournament in a manner that reflects the evolving needs of the martial arts community while creating meaningful opportunities for participation, cultural exchange, and collaboration.
The 17th All Community Games (ACG) 2026 proudly marks an important milestone in this effort by introducing, for the first time, traditional Chinese cultural sports competitions featuring Tai Chi, Kung Fu, Wu Shu, and Lion Dance. These events are organized in partnership with CCKSF and the Dragon & Lion Cultural Sport Association of Ontario (DLCSAO).
This exciting addition represents a significant expansion of the Games’ programming, bringing together athletic excellence, artistic expression, and cultural heritage in a unique celebration of Chinese traditions. Participants and spectators alike will have the opportunity to experience the graceful movements of Tai Chi, the dynamic skills of Kung Fu and Wu Shu, and the vibrant cultural performance of Lion Dance—each reflecting centuries of history, discipline, and tradition.
The inclusion of these events not only enhances the diversity of the Games but also serves an important role in promoting Chinese culture within the broader Canadian community. Through these competitions, audiences will gain a deeper appreciation of these traditional practices while celebrating the values of inclusivity, cultural exchange, and multiculturalism.
Beyond competition, Tai Chi and Chinese martial arts promote physical fitness, balance, discipline, and mental well-being, encouraging individuals of all ages to embrace healthier and more active lifestyles. These disciplines represent a holistic approach to personal development, combining physical training with values such as respect, perseverance, and harmony.
By integrating these traditional practices into a modern multi-sport event, the 17th All Community Games continue to build bridges between cultures while fostering community engagement and understanding. The return of competitive Chinese martial arts and the debut of Tai Chi, Kung Fu, Wu Shu, and Lion Dance reflect CCKSF’s ongoing commitment to preserving cultural heritage, supporting athletic development, and creating opportunities for future generations to connect through these timeless traditions.
